PALANGKARAYA - Governor of Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan), Sugianto Sabran, officially set the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) and Provincial Sectoral Minimum Wage (UMSP) in 2025. Central Kalimantan UMP 2025 was set at IDR 3,473,621.04, an increase in accordance with the calculation of the formula regulated by the central government.

"The determination of the UMP is carried out through the Central Kalimantan Wage Council session on December 6, 2024," said Central Kalimantan Regional Secretary Katma F. Dirun, as quoted by ANTARA on Monday, December 9.

This determination is contained in the Decree of the Governor of Central Kalimantan Number 188.44/571/2024 concerning the Provincial Minimum Wage and Provincial Sectoral Minimum Wage in 2025.

The 2025 UMP adjustment was made based on the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia Number 16 of 2024, which regulates an increase of 6.5 percent from the 2024 UMP.

With the 2024 Central Kalimantan UMP of IDR 3,261,616.00, then an increase of IDR 212,005.04, the 2025 UMP becomes IDR 3,473,621.04. This adjustment takes into account economic growth, inflation, and certain index variables.

In addition to the UMP, the Governor of Central Kalimantan also appointed UMSP for certain sectors with characteristics of heavier work or require specialization. Two main sectors agreed, namely, the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sector (sub-sector of oil palm plantations): IDR 3,480,000 per month. Mining and Excavation sectors: IDR 3,500,000. per month.

"The determination of the UMSP is based on the Central Kalimantan Wage Council's agreement, taking into account the work risks and specific demands in the sector," explained Katma.

The determination of the UMP and UMSP for Central Kalimantan 2025 is based on Article 2 and Article 7 of the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower Number 16 of 2024, which provides guidelines for adjusting the minimum wage every year.

This decision is expected to be able to maintain the purchasing power of workers in Central Kalimantan as well as provide justice for sectors that have a higher work risk.
