JAKARTA - Members of the Indonesian Bawaslu Puadi said the C6 form was not an absolute requirement to vote in the 2024 Pilkada. This file is said to only facilitate the identification of voters at polling stations (TPS).

"The main condition for choosing is to be registered in the Permanent Voter List or DPT at related polling stations and bring electronic ID cards (e-KTP) or other official identity documents," Puadi said in a written statement, Sunday, December 8.

This statement was conveyed after the pair of candidates for governor and deputy governor of Jakarta, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, questioned the distribution of the C6 form or invitation letter to vote. This is even said to be the cause of the voter participation rate during the Jakarta Pilkada of only 58 percent.

Puadi said the public without the form could also vote at an adjusted time from 12.00 to 13.00 local time. The rules have been made so that eligible voters can cast their votes.

"For voters who are not registered with the DPT but want to exercise their right to vote, they can use e-KTP and vote at a certain time, usually between 12.00 and 13.00 local time, according to applicable regulations," he said.

Similarly, the Secretary General of the Independent Election Monitoring Committee (KIPP), Kaka Suminta also said that the C6 Form was not a determinant of the right to vote. This file is only an invitation.

"There are three conditions to choose, namely registered in the DPT or a final voter list, DPTb or additional voter list or DPK or a special voter list," he explained on a separate occasion.

"Without C6, every eligible voter remains entitled to vote. The basis is an ID card which shows that they are in accordance with the voter list. For voters in the DPK, they can vote after 12 noon, after all voters in the DPT and DPTb have finished using their voting rights," continued Kaka.

Meanwhile, regarding reports from the RK-Suswono camp, Kaka said, evidence must be done. This is because KIPP has done its job and has no effect on the results of the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

If the problem is only related to invitations, this is not necessarily related to violations. We'll just have to wait for the process from Bawaslu which has the authority to assess the report," he concluded.
