Polda Kaltara Musnahkan 74,9 Kilogram Sabu

TANJUNG SELOR - North Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda) destroyed evidence of methamphetamine weighing 74,959.21 grams or 74.9 kilograms.

The destruction was led directly by the North Kalimantan Police Chief, Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto, witnessed by related parties, Kasrem 092/Mrl, prosecutors, investigators, and community representatives at the Mapolda Tuesday, Thursday, December 5.

"This evidence is the result of the disclosure of the case of the Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Kaltara Police with three suspects, namely WP, AWT and DK from Tarakan City, some time ago," said the Kapolda.

The evidence that was destroyed was obtained from two different locations. For the perpetrators of WP and AWT, arrested by the police at Kayan VI Port, Jalan Sabanar Lama Keluran Tanjung Selor Hilir, Tanjung Selor District, Bulungan.

"Then we arrested the perpetrators of DK on Jalan Poros Tanjung Selor-Berau, precisely at km 57, Tanjung Palas Timur District, Bulungan," explained the Kapolda.

"It is suspected that the illicit goods came from Malaysia. The methamphetamine was packaged in 74 plastic packages of green tea from the Guanyinwang brand. The total evidence that was successfully secured was 74.9 kg. 37 grams were set aside for forensic laboratory tests and trial evidence," continued Inspector General Hary.

From the results of the forensic examination using the GC-MSD equipment Agilent Technologies 5975C, this evidence contains methamphetamine or is classified as class I narcotics.

The destruction was then carried out after receiving official approval from the Bulungan District Attorney with Letter Number STAP1772/O.4.18/ENZ.1/10/2024 and STAP1773/O.4.18/ENZ.1/10/2024

Kapolda said the police continued to work not only to arrest the perpetrators and couriers, but also to dismantle the network to its roots. This commitment also supports President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita Program.

"This destruction is to avoid evidence being misused. At the same time, it shows transparency and accountability in handling narcotics cases in Kaltara," he said.

The three perpetrators were charged with Article 114 Paragraph (2) subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (2) Juncto Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics.
