JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri revealed that one of the gaps in corruption is in the licensing sector. He said many people were using the sector to dredge up personal gain.

So, in the future, the prevention of corruption will be carried out in the field of commercial governance to state financial governance.

"We understand that corruption occurs a lot because of licensing that asks for rewards," Firli said at the launch of stranas PK 2021-2022 corruption prevention action that aired on YouTube KPK RI, Tuesday, April 13.

He stressed that financial governance must be accountable, transparent, effective, efficient, and cannot be used outside of predetermined programs and objectives. Firli said the third focus is on bureaucratic reform and law enforcement.

In addition, he said the prevention of corruption should be done from upstream to downstream. Moreover, corruption is not only a crime as stipulated in the law but deprives the rights of the people.

"Once corruption occurs then of course the rights of the people can not be fulfilled, social protection will be disrupted, national development will certainly be disrupted, activities to advance education and health will certainly be disrupted," he said.

"It means that if that happens then the national goal can be disrupted because of the slowdown in programs that we have to carry out," added the former Deputy Of Enforcement kpk.
