Bali To Balikpapan Becomes The Most Populous Flight Route For Christmas-New Year Holidays

JAKARTA - Denpasar, Bali and Balipapan destinations, East Kalimantan (Kaltim) will be the most populous route for passenger flights at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten, during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.

"For the top five destinations that landed at Soetta Airport based on existing data, Denpasar and Balikpapan are the most populous routes for the Nataru period," said Asst. Deputy Communication and Legal of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Holik Muardi reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 4.

In addition to the Denpasar and Balikpapan areas, which are the most populous routes on the Nataru holiday, there are also domestic flights to Surabaya and Makassar being the favorite passenger routes at Soetta Airport.

"From Denpasar, Surabaya, then Makassar and Balikpapan. That's the period before the peak season during the Nataru transportation period," he said.

The five domestic flight routes are the main favorite destinations during the Christmas and New Year holidays at every time.

"This market always occupies the first position for domestic as a destination airport or airport to and from Soekarno-Hatta Airport," he said.

As an anticipatory measure in facing the peak increase in passengers during the Nataru period, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) as the main operator of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta), will add to the air travel service facility.

"Of course we will add services for passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. In addition, additional golf cars will be carried out as well as baggage trolleys. So even though PJP 2U or PSC is given a discount, of course this will not reduce our service in this Nataru period," he said.

Holik also revealed that for current passenger traffic, there are only 140 thousand movements, both from arrival and departure. Meanwhile, for aircraft movement traffic, it is at 990 flights.

"We hope that there will be an increase in the number of passengers, especially since there is a decrease in tickets. Yes, this hope can show that the world of aviation is even more stretched," he said.
