25 Soldiers Named Suspects In The Attack Case In Deli Serdang

JAKARTA - The Military Police of the Kodam (Pomdam) I/Bukit Barisan have named 25 soldiers from the Medan Artillery Battalion (Yonarmed) 2/Sumagan as suspects in the attack on residents in Cinta Adil Village, Sibiru-biru District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen) Maj. Gen. Hariyanto when contacted in Jakarta, Wednesday, confirmed that all of the soldiers suspected of being involved had been examined and prosecuted by Pomdam I/Bukit Barisan.

"25 soldiers have been named as suspects, then the filing is carried out, divided according to the level of involvement in the case," said Major General Hariyanto as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 4.

At the Command Headquarters of Kodam I/BB, North Sumatra, Tuesday (3/12), Lt. Gen. Mochammad Hasan told reporters that Pomdam I/BB examined more than 50 soldiers from Yonarmed 2/KS to finally determine half of them as suspects.

He explained that investigators from Pomdam I/BB took several weeks until they were finally able to identify the suspect, because they had to be careful and careful in examining the involvement of each of the soldiers in the attack incident.

"I'm sorry this is indeed a process for a long time, because we are sorting things out, mitigating, because we must not be wrong in enforcing the law, making decisions, because this will later be transferred to court," Hasan said.
