Septine, Hot Water Supplyer To Toddler On Daycare Depok Arrested

Depok Metro Police arrested a caregiver with the initials S (35) who had the heart to pour hot water on a child aged 1 year 3 months with the initials KCB in one of the child care sites or daycare in the Depok area. "

"The incident occurred on Monday (December 2) at around 06.30 WIB, at one of the daycare located at the Sawangan Indah Earth Acquisition 1 Block A1 No. 10, Sawangan Depok," said Depok Metro Police Chief Commissioner Arya Perdana, ANTARA, Wednesday, December 4.

Arya explained that the victim was doused with hot water by the suspect because he kept crying when he wanted to be cleaned after the victim defecated.

"The suspect was emotional and angry because the victim kept crying when he was about to clean up his dirt twice with hot water on the back of his body, due to the splash of hot water the victim's back skin was peeling," he said.

Arya added that his party had also examined a number of witnesses, namely the owner of the daycare and one of the other caregivers who knew about the incident.

"The victim has also now checked the condition of the victim at the Alia Depok Hospital and carried out a visum et repertum and has coordinated with the UPTD PPA Depok City for handling the victim," he said.

Arya also explained that the suspect was charged with Article 80 paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning child protection and or 351 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.

"With a maximum penalty of 5 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 100 million," he said.

Previously, a post circulated on Instagram social media via the @jabodetabek24info account showing a case of sprinkling hot water to children under five in Depok.

"A daycare caregiver named Septina (35) has the heart to water a child with the initials KCB (1.3 years old) with hot water at Kiddy Space Indonesia, Pengasinan Village, Sawangan District, Depok," wrote the account.
