JAKARTA - Head of Professional and Security (Propam) Of The National Police Irjen Ferdy Sambo said the number of violations committed by police members has increased in early 2021. In fact, the forms of violations are increasingly manifold.

"As we know together that in early 2021 and previous years there was an increase in the number of violations of police members in quality and quantity," said Irjen Sambo in a technical working meeting (rakernis) at the National Police Headquarters, Tuesday, April 13.

Based on the data, Sambo said there are at least hundreds of violations divided menjadi_3 categories. Among them were 536 violations of discipline, 279 violations of kepp (Code of Professional Conduct of the Police), and 147 criminal violations.

Therefore, Sambo who presented the data in front of the Chief of Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo apologized for the performance that has not been maximized. So, in the near future this problem will be solved.

"Therefore, we extend our apologies to the Chief of Police for the executor of the task that has not been maximized from the Police Propam Div and the ranks so that there is an increase in quality and quantity in the implementation of member violation activities in the field," said Sambo.

So far, efforts to resolve the issue have been at the stage of searching for the cause of the number of police members who violated the rules. The search for the cause is also working with academics and independent teams.

"So that with the right data, through accurate research and surveys can also be formulated the handling of police violations in the future," he said.

In response, Chief of Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo welcomed the involvement of teams outside the National Police to look for the cause of the increasing violations of police members.

However, the record of crackdown and against members of the National Police who commit violations must be fair and in accordance with the rules.
