JAKARTA Distribution of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus and the Jakarta Superior Student Card (KJMU) phase II in 2024 will finally start on December 6, 2024. The distribution of this educational assistance was delayed beforehand.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Purwosusilo, explained that the number of KJP Plus recipients reached 523,622 students, while KJMU recipients amounted to 15,648 students. In detail, KJP Plus recipients are divided as follows: 242,919 for SD/MI level, 147,341 for SMP/MTs level, 48,876 for SMA/MA level, 83,403 for SMK level, and 1,083 for Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) level.

"The amount of funds received by students varies depending on the level of education. For KJMU recipients, they will receive Rp9,000,000 per semester," said Purwosusilo, Wednesday, December 4.

Purwosusilo also apologized for the delay in the disbursement of KJP Plus and KJMU phase II. According to him, the postponement was carried out to minimize the potential for misuse of social assistance during the regional head election period. The distribution was only carried out after voting day 27 November 2024.

"This delay is to ensure that social assistance is not used as a political tool during the election," he added.

The disbursement of funds for the new KJP Plus and KJMU phase II recipients was carried out after the process of opening the account, printing the savings book, and handing over the completed savings book and ATM. Funds will be transferred to the beneficiary account by Bank DKI.

Purwosusilo hopes that this social assistance can improve the quality of education for Jakarta students who come from underprivileged families, in order to create a quality-educated 2045 Golden Generation.

The following are the details of the amount of funds received by KJP Plus beneficiaries:

1. SD/MI (242,919 recipients):- Routine monthly costs: IDR 135,000- Periodic costs per month: IDR 115,000- Additional tuition for the private sector per month: IDR 130,000

2. SMP/MTs (147,341 recipients):- Routine monthly costs: IDR 185,000- Periodic costs per month: IDR 115,000- Supplementary tuition for the private sector per month: IDR 170,000

3. SMA/MA (48,876 recipients):- Routine monthly costs: IDR 235,000- Periodic costs per month: IDR 185,000- Additional tuition for the private sector per month: IDR 290,000

4. SMK (83,403 recipients):- Routine monthly costs: IDR 235,000- Periodic costs per month: IDR 215,000- Additional tuition for the private sector per month: IDR 240,000

5. PKBM (1,083 recipients):- Routine monthly costs: IDR 185,000- Periodic costs per month: IDR 115,000

Students can use a maximum of IDR 100,000 for routine cash costs per month. The remaining regular costs and periodic costs can be used non-cash to meet the needs of students.
