JAKARTA - Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan appealed to all mosque administrators or musala in DKI province to conduct five worship activities with certain provisions.

This was done in order to prevent and break the chain of spread of COVID-19 during the holy month of Ramadan in 1442 Hijri.

First, Anies requested the implementation of five-time fardu prayers, tarawih and witir prayers, tadarus Al-Qur'an and iktikaf with restrictions on the number of attendance at most 50 percent of the capacity of the mosque.

"Restrictions by strictly implementing health protocols, keeping a safe distance of at least 1 meter between pilgrims and each congregation carrying their own worship equipment," Anies said in a written statement, Monday, April 12.

Second, recitation, lectures, tausiah, or kultum ramadan and dawn lectures are conducted with a duration of maximum 15 minutes.

Third, nuzulul Qur'an commemoration in mosques is implemented with a capacity restriction of 50 percent and implements strict health protocols.

Fourth, the activities of collecting and distributing zakat, infak, alms, and zakat fitrah are carried out by paying attention to health protocols and avoiding crowds.

Fifth, Eid al-Fitr 1 Syawal prayers can be performed in mosques or open fields by applying the protocol of error. "Unless the development of COVID-19 increases based on the announcement of the Task Force to Accelerate The Handling of COVID-19," he continued.

In addition to arranging worship activities, the mosque manager also prepares Ramadan worship guidelines to worshippers in accordance with the government's advice.
