PALU - As many as 100 families (KK) were affected by flooding in Towiora Village, Rio Pakava District, Donggala Regency. This data was released by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Sulawesi Province (Sulteng).

"Based on the results of the assessment, as many as 100 families were affected by flooding in Hamlet 1 and Hamlet 2, Towiora Village," said Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of Central Sulawesi BPBD Andy Sembiring in Palu City, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, November 30.

Meanwhile, about 100 houses were flooded, and there were no casualties in this incident. He explained that the data was still temporary from the results of the field assessment conducted by the local BPBD.

He said the flood hit Towiora Village at around 13.00 WITA due to the high intensity of rain which caused the local river water to overflow into residential areas.

The Donggala Regency BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC), he said, is currently still coordinating with local village officials and conducting assessments and monitoring in the field.

According to him, the current urgent need is to improve drainage and the river's small flow. This is needed as a mitigation step if the intensity of the rain is high again flushing the local area.

"Until now, the rain is still pouring down with moderate intensity. The flood is starting to recede, but it is still inundating people's houses," he said.

He said that to anticipate disasters in the regions, especially hydrometeorological disasters, his party maximized the availability of equipment posts.
