Depok Observer from the Institute for Development of Policy and Local Partnership (IDP-LP), Riko Noviantoro, reminded the success team of the two candidate pairs (paslon) of the Depok Regional Election, Imam Budi Hartono-Ririn Farabi Arafiq and Supian Suri-Chandra Rahmansyah, to stop the outstanding victory claims, at this time.

"The winner's claim action should be stopped. As an effort to prevent sharp polarization of supporters after the vote. Both candidate pairs are better off waiting for an official determination from the Depok City KPU," said Riko.

According to Riko, this year's Depok Pilkada shows political anomalies that need to be observed. Some areas that become the basis of votes for certain couples actually lose their votes, there are even areas that lose to empty boxes. The declining participation of voters also adds to the complexity of this situation.

"This reality must be handled carefully by all candidate pairs," he added.

For the Depok Pilkada, as the basis for PKS's vote, there are anomaly facts that need to be considered. Although the public generally believes that the PKS cadres' voices tend to be stable, this situation could provide an opportunity for the Imam-Ririn pair to win.

The 2024 Depok Pilkada was attended by two pairs of candidates, namely Imam Budi Hartono and Ririn Farabi Arafiq who were promoted by PKS and Golkar with serial numbers 1, and supported by the Crescent Star Party and the Masyumi Party. The other pair, Supian Suri and Chandra Rahmansyah, were supported by a coalition of 12 political parties (Parpol) in the Coalition for the Change of Depok Maju, with serial number 2.

The 12 parties include Gerindra, PDIP, Democrats, PKB, PAN, PPP, NasDem, Perindo, Gelora, the People's Party, the Labor Party, and PSI.

The total List of Permanent Voters (DPT) in Depok City for the 2024 Pilkada reached 1,427,674 people, with 700,215 male voters and 727,459 female voters. In addition, there are 3,303 polling stations (TPS), including 3 special polling stations at the Depok Detention Center and Qutrunada Islamic Boarding School.

Riko hopes that all parties are waiting for official results from the KPU to avoid tensions that could harm political and social stability in Depok City.
