Biden Angry, Considers Russia's Missile Attack On Ukraine Too Much

JAKARTA - US President Joe Biden called Russia's missile and drone attacks on Ukraine an "outrageous" act.

"Last night, Russia launched a terrible airstrike on Ukraine," the White House said in a statement quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Friday, November 29.

It said Russia launched nearly 200 missiles and drones into Ukraine's cities and energy facilities. As a result, Ukrainian civilians do not get electricity supplies.

Biden also said the Russian attack was a reminder of the importance of helping Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression.

After the Russian-Ukraine war lasted more than 1,000 days, Biden assured the Ukrainian people that the US was supporting them.

"In the beginning of this year, at my direction, the United States had prioritized sending air defense systems to Ukraine," he said recalling his decision.

"The Defense Department has delivered hundreds of additional air defense missiles to Ukraine, as a consequence of this decision, and subsequent deliveries are being processed," he explained.

In recent months, the US administration has been trying to help Ukraine increase the resilience of their energy grids in preparation for winter.

The US Department of Defense also continues to send Ukraine with other important defense equipment such as artillery, rockets and armored vehicles, according to a White House statement.

"Russia continues to underestimate the courage, resilience, and determination of the Ukrainian people," said the US president, who would end his tenure.

He reiterated US support and more than 50 other countries for Ukraine in its "independent struggle."
