Bengkulu Governor Protests Arrested By KPK, Masses Will Hold Demonstrations During Pilkada Votes

BENGKULU - Bengkulu City Police (Polresta), Bengkulu Province received a letter of action plan submitted by hundreds of people after the KPK's arrest operation (OTT) against Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah.

Bengkulu Police Chief Kombes Deddy Nata said the people who are members of the Bengkulu community 'aliansi' will carry out a massive action on November 27, 2024.

"Today we from the Bengkulu Police came from the Bengkulu Community Alliance which submitted an action plan letter on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. We received the letter, we from the Bengkulu Police said that whether it would be later or not on November 27, we asked not to do anything that forced people to come," said Deddy as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 25.

The police hope that the action that will be carried out at the vote will not be disturbed by the security and order and can maintain order and security in Bengkulu City.

Meanwhile, Action Coordinator Ferri Van Dolis explained that his party would hold a massive action on November 27 at Simpang Lima Bengkulu City.

"Today, November 25, 2024, on behalf of the Bengkulu community alliance, we express our attitude that Bengkulu is not doing well, Bengkulu has an emergency trust in the KPK, the legal apparatus in particular has caused a commotion made by the KPK during the calm period of the regional elections campaign in Bengkulu City," he said.

The action was carried out because Bengkulu was considered not fine. Bengkulu is claimed to be an emergency in the KPK's trust.

"Our allegation is that there are rumors, there is a politicization of the Bengkulu Governor case case that was arrested yesterday in the election. Because we hold an agreement between the KPK and the AGO that during the regional election process there should be no legal process. If later after winning, for example, the incumbent who was arrested and has been sworn in by the president will be immediately arrested by the KPK," he explained.
