Residents Of Kebon Singkong Ask For Pagar Pembatasan Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai To Be Highed To Prevent Brawl

JAKARTA - A number of residents of the Kebon Singkong (Bonsi) area, RW 01, Klender Village, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, asked the joint apparatus to immediately lift the guardrail on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, its place on the border of the Bonsi area with Cipinang Jagal, Klender Village, Duren Sawit.

"We ask that the fence (road boundaries) be elevated like in Matraman. We ask that all of them, the fence be raised like in Matraman," said Saibur, a resident of RW 01 Klender Village, Monday, November 25.

The government's proposal to renovate the road divider fence followed because the brawl was carried out by residents of Cipinang Jagal from across the street.

They easily access the opponent's territory because many guardrails are damaged and perforated.

"Here, all the brawls between the two ( Bonsi and Cipinang Jagal residents). We ask that each gate hole in the middle of this road is also closed, because it becomes the access of the brawlers," he said.

Saibur hopes that after the elevation of the road divider fence and repair of the damaged fence, it will be effective in minimizing cases of brawls that often occur in the Duren Sawit, Jatinegara and Pulogadung areas.

Please note, the distance between the Bonsi area and Cipinang Jagal is separate from the railroad tracks and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Street.

However, when the brawl occurred, residents of Cipinang Jagal who were involved in the brawl could actually cross the railroad tracks and enter through the broken barrier fence.

"If the fence is closed, it might prevent a brawl," he hoped.

Responding to the Bonsi residents' proposal, the East Jakarta City Government will raise the guardrail on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, East Jakarta.

"We have fixed it, while walking, we will build the mindset first. Even though the fence is elevated, if the human mindset is not built, there is no agreement, it will be difficult," said East Jakarta Mayor M. Anwar, Monday, November 25.

In addition to raising the road divider fence, the Mayor plans to close the access fence on the edge of the border train on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, East Jakarta.

"Including the walls on the outskirts of the railroad tracks, we will close them, to avoid access to brawls. It agrees that we are together with the Police Chief and the Dandim," he said.

Please note, brawls between the Kebon Singkong (Bonsi) and Cipinang Jagal areas often occur on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai and the railroad line, Duren Sawit, since several weeks. Two residents of the brawl were killed.

Based on VOI records, the brawl that occurred on Sunday, November 10, 2024, there was one teenager from Jagal Village, Pulogadung District who died when he was hit by a train during a brawl.

Then the brawl that occurred on Thursday night, November 21, 2024, there was one resident with the initials TH (52), a resident of Cipinang Jagal RT 06/10, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, who died as a result of a brawl.
