Tanjungpinang Municipality Publishes Ramadan Fasting Circular 2021 During Pandemic

JAKARTA - The Government of Tanjungpinang Riau Islands Province issued a circular on the guidance on the implementation of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri/2021 AD in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reported by Antara, Monday, April 12, the Mayor of Tanjungpinang Rahma in Tanjungpinang Sunday mentioned Muslims, except for those who are sick or for other justifiable reasons, must perform ramadan fasting in accordance with sharia law and religiously determined ordinances of worship.

The implementation of worship and religious activities can be carried out in mosques / surau / musala by applying discipline and enforcing health protocol laws as an effort to prevent and control COVID-19 during pandemic situations.

Religious activities such as lectures / taushiyah / kultum Ramadan and dawn lectures with a duration of 20 minutes and commemoration nuzulul Qur'an and tadarus carried out by applying discipline and enforcing health protocol law as an effort to prevent and control COVID-19 during pandemic situations.

Then, sahur and iftar are recommended to be done in each house with the core family, but if the activity is still carried out must comply with health protocols.

The activities of collecting and distributing zakat fitrah, infaq, and alms by the Amil Zakat Agency in the mosque / surau / mushalla is carried out by paying attention to health protocols and avoiding crowds.

In addition, the public is prohibited from carrying out takbir parades, either by vehicle or on foot.

Takbiran is only done in mosques / surau / mushalla with loudspeakers, and still pay attention to health protocols.

Furthermore, Eid al-Fitr prayers can be performed in mosques or in open fields by applying discipline and enforcing health protocol laws as an effort to prevent and control COVID-19 during pandemic situations.

The preachers are expected to play a role in strengthening the values of faith, laughter, akhlaqul karimah, the benefit of the people, and national values in the Republic of Indonesia through the language of proper and wise da'wah in accordance with the guidance of the Quran and as-sunnah.

Minimizing travel outside the region, specifically to areas that are in the red zone and/or are having an increased insentity of confirming positive cases of COVID-19.

At the end of the circular, it is affirmed to each Mosque Prosperity Council /Surau/Mushalla or any person who deliberately violates or neglects the health protocol of COVID-19 during the pandemic situation will be penalized in accordance with The Mayor of Tanjungpinang Regulation No. 44 of 2020 concerning the Application of Discipline and Law Enforcement of Health Protocols as an Effort to Prevent and Control COVID-19 in Tanjungpinang City.
