Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya Convey Message Against COVID-19

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi asked the public to be enthusiastic about the spread of COVID-19 while he was receiving treatment at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Jakarta after testing positive for the virus.

Using a breath aid tube in his nose and making a slightly breathless voice, Budi seemed so excited to convey his gratitude to President Joko Widodo and the medical team who took care of him.

"Mr. President, thank you for your support. ... To the RSPAD medical team, I thank you for their extraordinary work," Budi said in a video uploaded by DPR RI Commission I member Abdul Kadir Karding on his personal Instagram account, Thursday, April 2nd.

With the maximum care he has received, he is sure that this virus pandemic will soon be passed by Indonesia.

"This is an encouragement for all of us to fight COVID-19. We are sure, if we do it well, God willing, we can end it with victory. Allahuakbar," he said.

It is known, on March 14, the Government announced the health status of the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi (BKS) who tested positive for the corona virus or COVID-19. Budi Karya is currently being treated at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital. Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan was appointed as a temporary replacement.

Minister of State Secretary Pratikno said the family had given permission from his party and the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital to convey the status of Budi Karya who was positive for COVID-19. As Minister of Transportation, Budi's mobility is very high, he is at the forefront and is actively dealing with the impact of the virus.

"Of course, there are so many tasks of the Ministry of Transportation involved. Starting from evacuation, providing facilities that require the function of the Ministry of Transportation. Once again this is his involvement. His hard work is extraordinary to be part of handling the impact. I have received a report from the Minister of Health that the condition of the Minister of Transportation the better, "said Pratikno at that time.

Meanwhile, regarding the number of people with COVID-19 in Indonesia, currently the total number of positive patients nationally has increased by 113 cases. So, the accumulative total of positive patients with the corona virus currently reaches 1,790 cases.

Based on data, out of 113 new positive cases of COVID-19, DKI Jakarta contributed 80 patients and West Java followed with an additional 15 cases.

Furthermore, in the case of recovered patients, there were also an additional 9 people. Thus, the total number of patients recovered reached 112 people. Meanwhile, for death cases, there were 13 new cases recorded, totaling 170 people in total.
