Minister Of Religion Visits Saudi Arabian Embassy, Discusses Hajj

Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar visited the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Jakarta to discuss the implementation of Indonesian Hajj next year.

"We talked a lot about very productive things about the hajj issue, which is currently starting to be prepared," said the Minister of Religion after meeting with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, ASEAN and the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste Faisal Abdullah H. Amodi in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 19.

Nasaruddin said Ambassador Faisal was very supportive and ready to help so that next year's Hajj would be better than the previous year.

"Thank you for the open opportunity to talk about anything, so we get smart inspiration, which is an added value to strengthen and at the same time expedite the implementation of the next year's Hajj," he said.

Regarding the plan to visit President Prabowo Subianto to Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Religion continued, it will be carried out in the near future.

"We will soon meet with the government of Saudi Arabia. God willing. We will inform you later," he said.

According to him, one of President Prabowo's programs is the construction of Indonesian Hajj Villages in Makh City and Medina based on the agreement between the two countries.

"The president is very enthusiastic about building an Indonesian Hajj village that can also be used for Umrah activities there," he said.

The Minister of Religion said that currently there has been no discussion regarding Indonesia's hajj quota.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Faisal stated that his party was ready to support all activities related to religion, Islamic da'wah and the implementation of Indonesian Hajj.

"We are open to supporting and providing facilities and convenience in order to succeed in its activities as Minister of Religion of Indonesia," said the Ambassador.
