Vice President Gibran Ordered His Volunteers To Support Ridwan Kamil In The Jakarta Regional Head Election

JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Gibran Rakabuming Raka is said to have ordered his volunteers to support Ridwan Kamil-Suwono in the 2024 Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada) contestation. The goal is that the number one pair win one round.

"Ya utama (radian Gibran) turun, supaya memenangkan RIDO. Kita yang bagian tim pelaksana harus gaspol utama dengan waktu yang ada, ya," ujar Ketua Umum Gibran Center, Marsudiyanto, kepada wartawan, Selasa, 19 November.

Responding to this support, Ridwan Kamil is very grateful. According to him, the support was like reciprocal because in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) he was the head of the Prabowo-Gibran Regional Campaign Team (TKD) in West Java.

"I used to be the Chairman of the Prabowo-Gibran TKD, giving 16.6 million votes, if I'm not mistaken, the largest in Indonesia. Yes, of course, now I am in a contest, maybe everyone finally understands that we can win in the remaining time," said Ridwan Kamil.

The support from Gibran volunteers is expected to win it as Governor of Jakarta. In addition, Ridwan Kamil also hopes that President Joko Widodo's eldest son personally supports him in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. Although, he is not allowed to participate in the campaign directly.

"I think if it is expected to be able to (support me), only the rules, legislation, that must be checked again, yes. Because if it becomes the level of state officials who are direct campaigns, there are procedures," said Ridwan Kamil.
