Ridwan Kamil's Solution To Resolve Rob Floods: Highen The Sea Embankment

JAKARTA - The candidate for governor of Jakarta, Ridwan Kamil, has several solutions to overcome tidal flooding. In the short term, it can be done by raising the sea wall of North Jakarta.

"Approximately in the short term, the EXisting embankment was raised. In my opinion, the height is still lacking, so we are high," Ridwan Kamil told reporters, Tuesday, November 19.

Meanwhile, in the long term, Ridwan Kamil has several ways to deal with tidal flooding. For example, combining the giant sea wall project with mangrove planting.

By combining this method, it is hoped that it can eliminate tidal flooding in the northern coastal area of Jakarta.

"In the long term, the giant sea wall, yes, a combination of mangroves, rehabilitation, and new planting, multitasking, hopefully, will be a solution," said Ridwan Kamil.

On the other hand, Ridwan Kamil stated that he had sent a team to check the condition of the tidal flood victims. Because, he was reluctant to go straight there.

One of the reasons is because he is worried that his arrival at the location is only known as an image.

"The problem is accessibility too, is it worth visiting, so it's not a matter of later imaging, but rather for effectiveness, how do residents understand that we really care about other ways of options," said Ridwan Kamil.
