Village Heads In Jakarta Don't Place Official Houses, Left Empty Even Though The Budget Never Housing

JAKARTA - Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to make a standard regulation containing rules that require the lurah and sub-district heads to occupy official residences so that they can immediately follow up on the aspirations of residents.

"I ask the executive to make a regulation that leads them to be orderly and disciplined in the midst of society by occupying official residences," said Chairman of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD, Inggad Joshua, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 18.

Inggad said the DKI Provincial Government (Pemprov) must impose severe sanctions on the village heads and sub-district heads who do not occupy official residences. This is because there are many problems in the region that must be addressed immediately in times and situations of emergency.

"So it must be given severe sanctions for our friends. The sub-district head often ignores what has been budgeted, the important thing is that the budget is out, the project continues, it's just left," said Inggad.

The same thing was conveyed by a member of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Mohamad Ongen Sangaji. He is of the opinion that many lurahs and sub-district heads do not live in official residences. As a result, people struggle when they want to express their aspirations.

Therefore, Ongen also asked all village heads and sub-district heads to occupy the official residence provided by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

"We ask the mayor's friends to have firmness, so that this official house can be used for the benefit of the community," said Orgen.

Assistant Assistant to the Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province, Sigit Wijatmoko, said that he would immediately follow up on the vacancy of official houses that were not occupied by the village heads and sub-district heads. Because, he said, the provision of facilities and infrastructure such as official houses is part of the assets of the DKI Provincial Government.

In addition, Sigit stated, the legislature has the right to supervise the use of official houses for village heads and sub-district heads so that the use of official houses is a form of saving the assets of the DKI Provincial Government.

"This is our care, so that in compiling this procurement document we can really confirm the implementation of the activity. So for those who are rehab, both the office and official residences are our concern," he said.
