JAKARTA - Candidate for Governor of Jakarta number 1, Ridwan Kamil agreed with his competitor, Pramono Anung regarding the construction of Giant Sea Wall to protect Jakarta from the threat of flooding and sea level rise. In addition, the implementation of the construction of Giant Sea Wall must involve many parties, including residents, NGOs and WALHI to ascertain whether Giant Sea Wall is the main solution. Jakarta residents need a realistic program in handling floods," added RK.

Like Pramono Anung, the former Governor of West Java also proposed efforts to reforestation the area through mangrove planting and expanding embankments. RK intends to make the Giant Sea Wall area a social space that provides direct benefits to the community, especially the younger generation.
