JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta will hold a third debate or the final debate for the 2024 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election on Sunday, November 17.
DKI Jakarta KPU member Nelvia Gustina said the third debate had the theme of urban planning and climate change. As before, the debate was divided into six segments and 6 subtemas.
What is different from the previous debate, the DKI KPU will present a video testimonial from the public regarding the matter of debate questions to be submitted to Jakarta cagub-cawagub pairs.
"If now it doesn't invite the community anymore, but there will indeed be a testimonial video from community representatives, conveying the facts that are happening in the community, and that will then intersect with questions that will be conveyed by panelists," Nelvia told reporters, Tuesday, November 12.
Nelvia said that this last debate would be held at the Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta. He ensured that the last debate venue would not experience a location shift like what happened in the second debate.
"It has been coordinated with the Polda Metro Jaya and then also because this is Central Jakarta, this is the area where the Central Jakarta Police Chief has conducted a location review. It has also been arranged and friends also discussed the security scheme for supporting order," explained Nelvia.

However, Nelvia admitted that the KPU has not yet set a debate panelist who will compile questions to Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana, and Pramono Anung-Rano Karno. Likewise with moderators that have not yet been determined.
"In one or two days, we have to make a decree. It's still being discussed. Regarding the moderator, actually there was also a meeting with the media, it has narrowed to three names, but only two names are moderators, so that's still being discussed, we'll inform you when it's decided," he explained.
During the Jakarta gubernatorial election, the KPU held three debates between candidate pairs. The first debate was held on October 6, with the theme of strengthening cultural resilience; HR development; to programs for women, children, marginalized people, and disabilities.
Meanwhile, the second debate held on Sunday, October 27 brought the theme of economics and social welfare. Then, the last debate that was held on November 17 had the theme of urban planning and climate change.
