National Police Chief Opens Opportunity To Check Budi Arie Setiadi In Online Gambling Case

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo spoke about the possibility of examining the former Minister of Communication and Information (Kominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi in an online gambling case.

According to him, this matter could be done if later the results of the handling of the case led to Budi Arie Setiadi or other names.

"Yes, I think, if later in the examination carried out by my members, directing certain names, I think it will certainly be processed, it will be examined," Sigit told reporters at the Indonesian Parliament, Monday, November 11.

In addition, he emphasized, the National Police are committed to eradicating online gambling. Anyone involved will be dealt with according to the rules.

"What is clear is our commitment, we will enforce it if this is targeting anywhere, of course as long as it can be proven we will complete the process," he said.

Even within the Police. Anyone involved or ranking online gambling will certainly be processed ethically and criminally.

"Likewise, I have said that for members who are still playing online gambling, I have ordered them to be brought under control, as well as those involved in accepting or even ranking, I ask to be thoroughly investigated," said Sigit.

On the other hand, Sigit said that the development of online gambling handling, Polda Metro Jaya has arrested two new suspects known to have the initials MN and DM.

Development will continue to be carried out in order to uncover and arrest other parties involved in online gambling practices.

"So at this time the investigation that we are conducting has not been completed last night, our members returned from Malaysia to arrest two fugitives who are currently under investigation to develop will lead to anyone," said Sigit.
