Mayor: Tanah Abang Kambing Market Fire, Allegedly Caused By Short-Circuit Electricity

JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Mayor Dhany Sukma revealed the fire that occurred at Jalan Sabeni RT 1 RW 12 or known as the location of The Kambing Market, Tanah Abang, allegedly due to short circuit of electricity.

"Temporary information based on incoming information is caused by a short circuit, an electric current that causes a fire that hits one of the fruit stalls", Dhany said reported by Antara, Friday, April 9.

Dhany explained that the spark was successfully repelled by officers from the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Damkar) so that it did not spread to the homes of residents.

According to an interim report, no people's homes were devoured by the red master. The fire that occurred in Kebon Melati Market is also the handling of PD Pasar Jaya.

However, the fire that occurred at 16.50 WIB and was extinguished at around 18.15 WIB scorched 136 stalls and 40 stalls.

PD Pasar Jaya will then carry out renovations or arrangements at the site of the former fire.

"Because this is an area of PD Pasar Jaya, it is likely to reorganize the burned market, so as a result of coordination with the President Director of Pasar Jaya there is a market arrangement that is in the former fire", said Dhany.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Chief Asril Rizal explained that as many as 85 personnel and 17 pump units were deployed to extinguish the fire.
