JAKARTA - The Police of Metro Jaya followed up the ban on homecoming issued by the government by preparing a sealing point to dissuade citizens who want to go home. The government decided to ban homecoming to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"Our plan will be to restrict and inspect passenger vehicles, both cars, buses, and motorcycles leaving Jakarta on that date," said Metro Jaya Police Traffic Director Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo as quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 8.

Sambodo said the sealing policy will be implemented in accordance with the implementation of the policy of banning homecoming, namely on May 6-17.

In its implementation, Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya will also carefully check the completeness of documents and freight transport vehicles that are exempted from exiting and entering the jurisdiction of The Metro Jaya Police Department.

That's because in the implementation of the policy of homecoming ban last year found many freight transport vehicles that try to bring passengers in and out of Jakarta. "Like last year we'll check everything out," he said.

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) secretary-general urged the publication of Ministerial Regulation (PM) Number 13 of 2021 concerning Transportation Control during Eid al-Fitr 1442 H in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"Transportation control is carried out through a ban on the use or operation of transportation facilities, for all modes of transportation, namely land, sea, air and railway modes starting on May 6-17, 2021," said Ministry of Transportation Spokeswoman Adita Irawati.
