Gus Ipul Calls The Award For The National Hero Title Waits For Prabowo To Return To Indonesia

Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Mensos Gus Ipul) said the awarding of the title of national hero would await President Prabowo Subianto's return after making diplomatic visits to several countries.

He explained that this year's announcement of the title of national hero will not be carried out in conjunction with the commemoration of National Hero's Day which is commemorated every year on November 10.

The awarding of the title of national hero will be adjusted according to time after President Prabowo returns from his overseas visit. So this year is not the same as November 10, "said Gus Ipul quoting Antara.

He explained that currently the Ministry of Social Affairs has proposed 16 names to the Dewan of Titles, Services, and Honorary Signs which will later be selected to 6 names.

The sixteen names proposed in August, he continued, were the result of a proposal during the leadership of former Social Minister Tri Rismaharini, obtained from the proposal of the community at the district or city level, the province which was then selected by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The Ministry of Social Affairs then handed over the list of sixteen names to the Council for Titles, Services, and Honors to then be re-selected and handed over to the president.

For information, President Prabowo started state visits to China, the United States, Peru, Brazil, and Britain. The Head of State departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base Jakarta, Friday at around 10.25 WIB using the Indonesian Aircraft.

Prabowo will attend an honorary invitation to China to meet the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, then to the US to meet President Joe Biden. In the US, Prabowo also opened the possibility of meeting the winner of Donald Trump's presidential election.

After the state visit in the US is complete, the President of the Republic of Indonesia will continue his visit to the two summits, namely the APEC Summit which will take place in Lima, Peru and the G20 Summit in Brazil.

After leaving Brazil, the President is then scheduled to return to visit another head of state. Prabowo is scheduled to meet British Royal Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
