JAKARTA - The Riau Police raided a storage house for imported clothing (thriphing) in Tiban, Batam City, Riau Islands, and confiscated 200 ballpres' containing clothes and other used goods such as shoes and sandals.
Riau Police Criminal Investigation Director Kombes Nasriadi said the location of the house in Tiban Kencana Housing was suspected of being the place where illegal used goods were circulated from abroad.
"This raid is an attempt by the National Police to take action against the circulation of smuggled goods from abroad," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 6.
He explained that this action was a follow-up to the direction of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to all police ranks in the central and regional levels to take firm action against cases of concern to the government, such as online gambling, drugs and smuggling or illegal imports.
