JAKARTA - The Head of the Supervision of Judges and Investigation of the Judicial Commission, Joko Sasmito, stated that his party was ready to monitor the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) trial because various special preparations had been made.

To provide the public with independent monitoring, KY has held Training Coaches or Training of Trainers (ToT) for Monitoring the 2024 Pilkada Trial in five cities, namely Surabaya, Padang, Mataram, Balikpapan, and Bogor.
"This TOT or technical guidance is expected to provide material content for the network to assist KY's duties in monitoring the trial of the regional election case," added Joko.
In addition, KY has also collaborated with various parties, such as the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), the University of Indonesia, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to encourage public awareness to carry out independent monitoring in court.
Joko explained that so far there have been nine requests for monitoring of regional election criminal proceedings, including trials in the highest court of state administration (PT TUN) and district courts.
"Indeed, there have been requests for monitoring of regional elections, there are nine that have been monitored by us. Later there will be reports of monitoring of regional elections," he added.
