DKI Civil Service Police Unit Satpol Warns Break Fasting Snacks Merchants To Not Create Crowds

JAKARTA - Head of Satpol PP DKI Arifin reminded that takjil (break fasting snacks) merchants or iftar food that trades seasonally during Ramadan to keep the buyers from crowding.

Because, currently, the COVID-19 pandemic is still occurring and Jakarta is still implementing restrictions on micro-based community activities (PPKM) until April 19, 2021.

"The takjil sellers should also pay attention. If they are in the management building, the building has to limit the number customers. They must set distance between merchants", Arifin told reporters on Thursday, April 8.

Arifin said that although the current trend of increasing cases of COVID-19 began to decrease, it does not mean that the transmission of coronavirus is no longer happening. Therefore, the implementation of 3M health protocol must continue to be implemented.

"We want all to be able to comply with what is predetermined. Jakarta is still enforcing the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). There are restrictions on operating hours. As long as it is obeyed, all activities can run", he said.

Previously, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan again extended the micro-scale PPKM through The Governor's Decree No. 405 of 2021 concerning The Extension of Micro-scale PPKM and Governor's Instruction No. 18 of 2021 on Extension of the neighborhood level mico-scale PPKM.

In this extension of the PPKM period, Anies urged Jakartans to refrain from leaving the house, especially if there is no urgent interest.

Especially, said Anies, in the week since the extension of the Micro-scale PPKM was enacted. Because all Muslims will perform fasting because it enters the month of Ramadan 1442 Hijri.

"During Ramadan, it can be used as a momentum for us to continue to increase immunity while fasting in order to avoid the risk of exposure", said Anies.

Anies said that the extension of the PPKM was done in order to maintain the suppression of the rate of COVID-19 cases. Residents are again encouraged to not only comply with 3M but also to reduce mobility, as well as prevent unnecessary crowds.

"We are grateful that the emphasis of active cases through micro-scale PPKM in accordance with the path is the desire of all of us. In addition, we express our high appreciation to all parties who are struggling to cope with this pandemic situation," said Anies.
