JAKARTA - Mayor of Pariaman Genius Umar said Pariaman Market that has just been revitalized and inaugurated by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin will be a tourist destination.

In addition to being clean and modern concept, from this four-storey market, people can enjoy the landscape of Pariaman City.

For information, this market has been revitalized since 2019. This market has actually been around since 1980. But the state of this market was devastated after the 2009 earthquake and the 2016 earthquake that hit West Sumatra.

"So even to the market people travel because with this four-story market we can see all the landscapes of Pariaman City and we can see three mountains, and a row hill. And (if, red) we go to the west side we can see the sea, so it's so beautiful scenery", said Genius when met VOI in the Kuningan Persada area, South Jakarta, Thursday, April 8.

He explained, just a few days opened, this market has managed to bring many visitors from various regions around Pariaman City. Thus, this brings profit for traders there who claim to get an increase in turnover compared to the location of the shelter market.

"The people who come are not only Pariaman people, but also from Padang Pariaman Regency, people from Padang, Pasaman and surrounding districts also come", he said.
