The KPK And The National Police Will Sit Together To Discuss Cooperation In Handling Corruption Next Week

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will sit down with the Attorney General's Office and the National Police next week. The three law enforcement agencies plan to discuss the draft extension of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) which has been signed since May 2021.

KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the discussion of this design was a follow-up to the meeting held on Tuesday, October 29 yesterday. At that time, the Chairperson of the KPK, Nawawi Pomolango, and the structural ranks of the anti-corruption commission, held an audience with the Attorney General's Office.

"Furthermore, the discussion of the MoU draft will be carried out with the Prosecutor's Office and the police. It is scheduled for next week," Budi said in a written statement, Thursday, October 31.

Budi said the previously agreed MoU includes several things. These include synergy in preventing corruption, handling corruption, assistance, security to utilizing facilities and infrastructure, increasing capacity and/or utilizing human resources to providing data and/or information.

The meeting was also attended by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Deputy Attorney General for Development Bambang Sugeng Rukmono, Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah and his staff.

"This agreement is of course very necessary in the context of strengthening the synergy between law enforcement officers in eradicating corruption, including in carrying out coordination and supervision tasks," he concluded.
