Andika-Hendi And Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin Undergo The First Debate Of The Central Java Gubernatorial Election

SEMARANG - Two pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor participants in the 2024 Central Java Provincial Head Election underwent an inaugural debate that raised the theme of governance.

Candidate pair number 1 Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi attended the debate held in Semarang, with their respective superiors green and red. Meanwhile, pair number 2 Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin Maimoen was present with a blue top.

The theme carried out in the first debate of the Central Java Pilkada was "Government Governance Link: Bureaucratic Leadership and Reform Towards Central Java with Transparent and Accountable Public Services"

Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Central Java Province Handi Tri Ujiono said public debate was one of the stages of the campaign facilitated by the KPU.

"Take advantage of the opportunity to convey ideas, vision and mission, as well as programs to attract 28.4 million voters in Central Java," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 30.

The KPU invites the public to listen to the debate between the candidate pairs so that they can get a reference so that they are given the determination in making choices.

Meanwhile in the debate room, the number of supporters is limited to a maximum of 75 people for each pair of candidates. In addition, supporters of candidate pairs are prohibited from carrying attributes, other than those attached to the body.

The questions raised in this debate were compiled by six panelists from a number of universities, namely Undip Semarang, Unnes, Unsoed Purwokerto, and UIN Semarang and Kudus.

The 2024 Central Java Pilkada was attended by two pairs of candidates, namely Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi, who was promoted by the PDI-P with a total valid vote of 5.2 million votes from the 2024 General Election and the pair Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin Maimoen who were jointly promoted by the Gerindra Party, PKB, Golkar Party, PPP, NasDem Party, PKS, PAN, Democratic Party, and PSI, with a total valid vote of 13.7 million votes.
