Today, Polda Metro Checks Pahala Nainggolan Regarding Alexander Marwata's Meeting With Ex-Head Of Yogyakarta Customs

JAKARTA - Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the Corruption Eradication Commission or the KPK, Pahala Nainggolan, will be examined as a witness regarding the investigation into the alleged meeting of KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata with the former Yogyakarta Customs Chief, Eko Darmanto.

Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak said the examination of Pahala Nainggolan is scheduled to take place at Polda Metro Jaya today.

"One of them (checked was Pahala Nainggolan's brother," said Ade to reporters quoted Monday, October 28.

The examination of the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring will take place around 09.00 WIB.

It is known, today's plan to examine Pahala is the result of a reschedule. This is because previously the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK could not fulfill the invitation to collect the cages which were scheduled for October 18.

"Because the person concerned is on an overseas official trip, and asks that it be rescheduled for classification," he said.

Apart from Pahala, investigators will also examine one other witness. However, the identity of the witness was not disclosed in detail.

Alexander Marwata is said to have met Eko Darmanto in March 2023.

During the meeting, the KPK was investigating Eko Darmanto in a case of alleged gratification and money laundering (TPPU).

The meeting was considered a violation. This is because the KPK leadership is prohibited from having direct or indirect contact with suspects or other parties who are related to corruption cases handled by the KPK.
