BMKG Asks The Nunukan Community To Beware Of Strong Winds

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of Nunukan, North Kalimantan, asked residents to be aware of strong winds accompanied by rain because it can cause trees to fall and damage to settlements.

Reported by Antara, Wednesday, April 7, Head of BMKG Station Nunukan Abdul Haris Zulkarnaen in Nunukan, Tuesday, explained that although the intensity of the rain is still normal at this time, the wind conditions occur suddenly at high speed.

Therefore, people on land and at sea need to be vigilant so as not to cause special casualties when there will be rain or a black cloud begins to take place.

According to BMKG Nunukan's observations, the wind speed up to one month ahead is around 10-15 knots per hour which can have an impact on tree falling and high sea waves.

Haris also admitted that currently the rainy conditions are still normal with an ongoing intensity during the day or at night.

"The rain now in Nunukan Regency does not depend on a certain time. It can be daytime and nighttime, so the time is uncertain", said the Head of BMKG Nunukan.

In connection with this erratic rainy time, people need to increase their vigilance by staying indoors more when it rains.
