10 Perpetrators Of Beating Men In Bali To Death Due To TikTok Uploads Arrested

GIANYAR - Gianyar Police, Bali, arrested 10 men who beat a project worker with the initials DK (19) to death.

The suspects had the initials IKS (44), KKD (23), DGS (49), KAP alias Municipal (43), DGPM (29), IKYG (28), KDW (36), DGM (31), PPS (41) and DGIG (25).

Gianyar Police Chief AKBP Umar said the police also arrested another perpetrator with the initials MO (20), the perpetrator of the viral video distribution.

To the police, the perpetrator MO admitted to taking a video from the victim's personal WhatsApp status, which was later edited, added that the text narrated insulting the residents.

"So the victim did not know anything about the viral video. Because the victim did not post the video. The one who posted the video was his relative (Mo perpetrator)," said AKBP Umar in a written statement, Thursday, October 24.

"The perpetrator who was with the victim panicked when he saw many residents coming and running away. We managed to secure the perpetrator in West Nusa Tenggara after previously moving from Bali," he added.

The perpetrator MO is known to edit the video by adding SARA-style writing and posting it on his TikTok account.

"The reason is just for fun, because if he deliberately posted a photo of him, and he posted his own photo," he explained.

For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code or Article 338 of the Criminal Code or Article 170 or Article 351 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of 20 years.
