Ministry Of ATR/BPN Affirms Commitment To Support Food Self-Sufficiency According To President Prabowo's Mandate

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Agrarian Arrangement held a Monitoring and Evaluation of Performance for the 2024 Administrative and Empowerment Sector on Wednesday (23/10/2024) at the Beaya Midplaza Hotel, Jakarta. On this occasion, the Director General (Dirjen) of Agrarian Arrangement, Yulia Jaya Nirmawati, invited all employees of the Directorate General of Agrarian Arrangement throughout Indonesia to jointly continue the Agrarian Reform program.

"We can work together in realizing justice and prosperity through the Agrarian Reform program. Several times the Minister has also mentioned that the current leadership is also (focusing) on maintaining food security, which has a lot to do with us as the Directorate General of Agrarian Arrangement," said Yulia Jaya Nirmawati.

Regarding food security, he explained that President Prabowo Subianto also emphasized that Indonesia must immediately achieve food self-sufficiency to maintain food security, namely by adding 4 million hectares of harvest area until 2029. This mandate is closely related to our framework, namely Agrarian Reform, where one of the goals of Agrarian Reform is in addition to overcoming the problem of inequality in mastery and land ownership, as well as to increase food security and sovereignty," said the Director General of Agrarian Arrangement.

The sustainability of the Agrarian Reform program has also been mandated in Law Number 59 of 2024 concerning the 2025-2045 National Long Term Development Plan (RPJPN) which has been ratified. We are asked to continue to carry out Land Redistribution through the provision of Land Agrarian Reform Objects (TORA) and land certification or asset arrangement, and followed by the arrangement of access or community land empowerment. This is our basis for continuing the great work of Agrarian Reform," explained Yulia Jaya Nirmawati.

Furthermore, he reminded his staff to continue to strengthen synergy and collaboration after the new leadership transition, not only collaboration between the internal ministries of ATR/BPN, but also with external parties.

Synergy and collaboration are not only at the ministerial and director general levels, but also collaboration at the director, sub-directorate, and sectional heads, all must collaborate with their respective duties. Cross ministries/agencies as well, especially now that several of our partner ministries have been expanded, such as the Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of Transmigration, Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Ministry of Cooperatives, and Ministry of MSMEs, said the Director General of Agrarian Arrangement.

"For that, I hope that in the future we can invite them to focus more on accelerating this joint task, so that people can feel the impact of increasing the benefits of the Agrarian Reform program," concluded Yulia Jaya Nirmawati.

In this activity, there was a panel discussion session attended by several panelists, one of which was the Deputy Minister of ATR/Deputy Head of BPN for the 2019-2022 period, Surya Tjandra. This activity was also attended by Primary High Leadership Officials within the Directorate General of Agrarian Arrangement and representatives of the field of structuring and empowerment from the Provincial BPN Regional Office throughout Indonesia.
