70 Violations Of Campaign Period In West Java, Most Cases Of ASN Neutrality

The West Java Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has handled 70 alleged violations during the month of the 2024 West Java Regional Head Election (Pilkada) campaign.

The Coordinator of the West Java Bawaslu Violation Handling Division, Syaiful Bachri, in his statement said that 70 alleged violations during the 2024 West Java Regional Election campaign took place from September 25 to October 20, 2024.

In detail, 47 of the 70 alleged violations, admitted Syaiful, have been registered, then 18 allegations of not meeting the requirements and five allegations are still in the process of initial study of West Java Bawaslu.

"Of the 47 alleged violations registered and the handling has been completed, there are 14 alleged violations that have been followed up, two of which have been continued in the police investigation process, but 33 are suspected of not being election violations," said Syaiful, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 24.

For the 14 allegations that were followed up, he said, two were suspected violations of ASN neutrality that occurred in Cianjur Regency and Tasikmalaya City, then five suspected violations of village head neutrality in Ciamis Regency with three cases, Indramayu Regency with one case and Kuningan Regency.

"Money politics in Pangandaran Regency is one suspicion, the campaign uses two alleged state facilities in Indramayu and Kuningan," he said.

In addition, the alleged violation of election organizers in Indramayu and Cianjur is a campaign beyond the schedule of one suspicion in Kuningan and regional officials conducting campaigns not in one case of external responsibilities (CLTN) in Depok City.

"Of the 70 allegations, 53 were public reports and 17 were Bawaslu's findings," he said.

Meanwhile, the number of campaigns in the 2024 regional elections in West Java, has been carried out as many as 102,624 activities.

"9,297 activities for the gubernatorial election and 93,327 campaign activities for the election of regents and deputy regents as well as the election for mayors and deputy mayors," he said.
