Prabowo Wants To Immediately Start Downstreaming As The Key To Prosperity

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto asked the relevant ministers in the Red and White Cabinet to immediately formulate, seek funds and start downstreaming because downstreaming is the key to prosperity.

"Hilirization is key to prosperity. Therefore, I ask the relevant ministers, the Minister of Investment for Downstreaming, the Minister of Bappenas, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources with several other ministers to be assisted by of course the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and the Chairman of the National Economic Council, I ask to immediately inventory important projects in our downstream program," said President Prabowo Subianto when giving directions at the inaugural Plenary Cabinet Session at the presidential office as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 23.

The President emphasized that self-sufficiency in energy is absolute. He reminded that Indonesia should be grateful that Indonesia has enormous natural resources.

According to the President, the government must not hesitate to make the best use of natural resources.

Therefore, Prabowo asked the relevant ministers, especially Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Rosan Roeslani, Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy and Chairman of the National Economic Council Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, to immediately initiate important projects for downstreaming.

The President noted that there are 26 vital project communities that must be formulated immediately so that downstreaming begins immediately.

"Make a list and we will immediately seek funds, so that we can start downstreaming in the shortest possible time," said Prabowo.

The cabinet meeting was held before the ministers received briefing at the Military Academy, Magelang, Central Java, for three days.

This activity is expected to bring the aura of tradition of courage to heroism for the cabinet minister, because Magelang is a center of resistance during the colonial period.
