Profile Of Yandri Susanto, Prabowo's Choice Minister Reprimanded By Mahfud MD

YOGYAKARTA Profile of Yandri Susanto received attention from the public. This spotlight occurred because he was reprimanded by former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD. After the reprimand circulated on social media, many people were curious about the figure of Minister Yandri Susanto.

Yandri Susanto is a National Mandate (PAN) politician. He was appointed by Prabowo Subianto to occupy the position of Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT).

Born on November 7, 1974, Yandri spent his childhood in the Bengkulu area. In the same city he also completed higher education in 1998 by majoring in livestock. He also managed to complete his master's degree education at KH University. Abdul Chalim in 2024.

Yandri's political career started from PAN from the start. He even started to become part of PAN since 2004. At that time he joined Barisan Muda (BM) PAN. In the organization Yandri is trusted to be Deputy Secretary General of BM PAN.

Then in 2006 he held the position of Secretary General (Sekjen) of BM PAN until 2011. Only in the same year did he sit as Chairman of BM PAN until 2016.

Not only taking part in PAN, Yandri was noted to have held 3 terms in Senayan. Yandri's first period as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives started from 2012 to 2014. At that time Yandri ran for Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the Lampung electoral district.

After his term ended, Yandri again ran for the DPR RI and managed to qualify twice, namely from 2014 to 2019, and 2019 to 2024.

Interestingly, in 2022 Yandri also succeeded Zulkifli Hasan, who at that time served as Deputy Chair of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR). The lawsuit was carried out because the General Chairperson of PAN was appointed by Jokowi to become Minister of Trade (Mendag).

Currently Yandri has officially joined the Red and White Cabinet. President Prabowo has also appointed Yandri as Mendes PDT.

On social media, letters from the Ministry of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions were circulated No: 19/UMM.02.03/X/2024. Not only that, the letter was also signed by Yandri Susanto on October 21, 2024.

Through this letter, Yandri also invited village heads, RT heads, and posyandu cadres in Kramatwatu, Serang, Banten to attend the 2nd anniversary of Yandri Susanto's mother as well as celebrate Santri Day, and tasyakuran on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at BAI Islamic Boarding School Mahdi Sholeh Ma'mun.

The letter was then widely discussed and managed to get Mahfud MD's attention. In fact, the former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs gave a strong warning.

"If it is true that there is a letter, then it is wrong. The letterhead and official stamps cannot be used for private and family events," read Mahfud MD's statement quoted from his personal social media.
