Free PKB And BBNKB II Kaltara Fines, PAD Increases

TANJUNG SELOR - Provincial Government (Pemprov) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) appealed to the public to take advantage of the Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) and Motor Vehicle Transfer Fee (BBNKB II) program.

This program was launched as part of the commemoration of the 12th Anniversary (HUT) of Kaltara Province and will take place from October 21 to November 22, 2024.

Head of the Kaltara Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Tomy Labo, explained that the policy is expected not only to help ease the burden on taxpayers but also strengthen the Regional Original Revenue (PAD) of Kaltara.

According to him, this program aims to encourage people who have vehicle tax arrears or vehicles with out-of-regional plates to take advantage of this opportunity.

"We hope this step can increase public awareness in fulfilling their tax obligations, as well as encourage PAD growth," said Tomy, Tuesday, October 22.

The Kaltara Provincial Government is optimistic that this program will make a positive contribution in achieving the PKB revenue target set.

Tomy also revealed that the government is targeting PKB revenues of Rp. 105 billion through this program. In addition, the exemption from BBNKB II is also expected to encourage vehicles from outside the region to switch to using Kaltara plates, which will have an impact on increasing provincial PAD.

Since the start of the program, the response of the community has been quite positive. In one day of implementation, revenue was recorded at Rp. 600 million. Tomy also invited all taxpayers to take advantage of this program before the validity period ended.

"This program is an opportunity to ease the tax burden while supporting regional development," he said.
