17 Children Of Motorcycle Gang Members Become Suspects Of Youth Death In Deli Serdang

MEDAN - Medan Police have named 20 members of motorcycle gangs as suspects. Of the 20 people, 17 of them are minors. They were involved in a brawl that killed a teenager with the initials SF (18) on Jalan Order Baru, Mulyorejo Village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

After becoming a suspect, most of the 20 motorcycle gang members were still teenagers and were immediately arrested. "The perpetrators were named suspects and detained on suspicion of committing violence together which resulted in the death of the victim," said Medan Police Chief Kombes Pol Gidion Arif Setiawan, in Medan, Monday, October 22.

The 20 suspects consist of three motorcycle gang groups, namely Simple Life, Youth Mistery Diski, and Wak Drong.

It is said that as many as 17 suspects are still minors. "Three adults and 17 others are minors. These suspects come from three motorcycle gang groups," he said.

According to him, underage suspects will follow the Child Protection Act and the juvenile justice system.

"One adult perpetrator entered the DPO (wanted list) and is suspected of being the main perpetrator," he said.

He explained that the brawl occurred on October 19, 2024 when two motorcycle groups attacked the Simple Life motorcycle group.

From raids on motorcycle gangs, the police secured evidence in the form of a piece of scouted shirt, a baseball club, three sickle blades, one machete, one wooden stick, and eight motorcycles.
