JAKARTA - Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti said his leadership would review the implementation of the Free Learning Curriculum policy, the New Student Admission System (PPDB) with zoning routes to the elimination of the National Examination (UN).

After handing over the position with the former Minister of Education and Technology for the 2019-2024 period, Abdul Mu'ti explained that he and his staff would review the three policies by listening to input from various related parties.

"So about the national exam, regarding PPDB zoning, the Independent Curriculum Learning, especially, yes, which is still being debated, we will see everything very carefully and we will be very careful," said Abdul Mu'ti as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 21.

His party will first listen to inputs and aspirations from local governments, the public who organize education as well as users of education services, experts, even journalists regarding the advantages and shortages of the three policies so far.

"Many policies are implemented, there are always pros and cons. But, of course, we will see everything as a whole, not in a hurry. Therefore, I will ask for input from various parties in the future. I try to lead this ministry to become a minister who hears a lot, "he said.

In addition, the Minister of Education and Culture also ensures that his leadership will continue to move quickly and prioritize various targets, medium to long in the Prabowo-Gibran Government.

He hopes that all ranks within the Ministry of Education and Culture can work together in ensuring an inclusive, participatory, and adaptive intelligence movement so that basic and secondary education can be felt by all levels of society, as mandated by the constitution.
