Floods Accompanied By Rocks And Mud Terjang Bone Bolango Gorontalo

GORONTALO - Floods of heavy currents hit Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo, tonight. The affected residents were evacuated.

Head of the Bone Bolango Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Achril Y. Babyonggo said the flood was triggered by rain with moderate to high intensity that occurred from 17.00 WITA.

The height of the flood reached the knee of an adult but the water flowed very fast carrying large rock material and mud.

"Debit air comes from the residents' channels and is blocked by sediment at the river mouth which is already very high causing water overflows accompanied by rock and mud material," said Achril.

Based on residents' reports, the water began to overflow since 20.00 WITA, and inundated residential areas.

"The water flow was very heavy, causing a lot of people's belongings to be washed away," he said.

The locations and affected residents are Kabila Bone District in Huangobotu Village and Biluango Village. As well as South Suwawa District in Libungo Village.
