KNKT Investigate The Beginning Of The SAM Air Plane Accident In Pohuwato Gorontalo

JAKARTA - The National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) has begun to conduct an initial investigation to investigate the cause of the SAM Air plane crash that crashed near Panua Airport, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo.

"So today we are at the location, basically we want to find what evidence we found," said the Head of the NTSC team, Nurcahyo Utomo, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 21.

According to him, a number of evidences that were begun to be sought were like broken or supporting the plane in which part and the position when the collision occurred.

"We still want to try to find evidence, look at the location and then we will see what the evidence is, then maybe we will study whether there is a possibility of damage or something else," he said.

Regarding the part of the plane that may be in the mud because it fell on a resident's shrimp pond, according to him, the NTSC is still thinking about what method it uses to pull out that part.

"We will also see what the object looks like, what tools we have, there will be several personnel later," said Nurcahyo.

He said the SAM Air plane has a Cockpit Voice Recorder, which is the cockpit voice recorder of the plane which is part of the plane's black box.

"That will be one of the things that we will take, later we will download it in our facilities," he said.
