Pramono Anung Regarding Major Teddy Jabat Seskab's Position Under The Minister Of State Secretary: I Don't Want To Be Mixed

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Candidate number 3 Pramono Anung responded to President Prabowo Subianto's decision to appoint Infantry Major Teddy Indra Wijaya or known as Major Teddy as Cabinet Secretary (Seskab).

The position of Cabinet Secretary, which is now held by Teddy, is one level below the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg). Previously, the position of Cabinet Secretary was at the same level as the minister.

Pramono, who previously served 10 years in the government of President Joko Widodo, was reluctant to comment further on the change in the nomenclature of the position.

"I don't know. I also don't interfere with that because it's the President's full authority," Pramono said when met in Duri Kepa, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, Monday, October 21.

On the one hand, Pramono gave his appreciation to the achievement of Prabowo's former aide who is now replacing his position in the new government.

Pramono also knew Teddy for a long time, considering that Teddy had also been President Jokowi's assistant assistant in 2014-2019. After that, Teddy became Prabowo's adjutant since serving as Minister of Defense in 2020.

"He was with Pak Jokowi and then with Pak Prabowo, so this experience became a strong thing for Teddy Indra to become a new Cabinet Secretary. I also know that when he was studying in America, he was one of the students for the best master's degree," explained Pramono.

On that occasion, Pramono also prayed for the ministers, heads of agencies, and deputy ministers who were inaugurated by Prabowo today to be able to carry out their duties properly.

"Hopefully the cabinet led by Pak Prabowo with the existing ministers, most of the ministers I know personally, can make the best contribution to the nation and state," he explained.

Teddy Indra Wijaya was inaugurated by the State Palace, Jakarta today, Monday, October 21 with the deputy ministers. The appointment is based on the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 143 P/2024 concerning the Appointment of Cabinet Secretarys.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, explained about Teddy in the Red and White Cabinet. Dasco said his position as Cabinet Secretary was under the Ministry of State Secretary so there was no need to resign from the TNI.

This was conveyed by Dasco in response to the number of parties who questioned how an active TNI member with the rank of major could fill the position of Cabinet Secretary.

"The structure and organizational charts have changed so that there is no Menseskab but are merged under the Minister of State Secretary," said Dasco.

Therefore, continued Dasco, Major Teddy did not need to resign from his position as an active TNI officer. Because said Dasco, the position of Cabinet Secretary is no longer at the ministerial level.

"So that this nomenclature change can be filled by Brother Teddy without having to retire from the TNI because it is not at the ministerial level," he said.

"The structure of the Seskab, is under the same State Secretariat as positions that can be filled by TNI or Polri officers such as Sesmil, Sespri, and others whose limits are the highest equivalent of Echelon II or if the TNI-Polri are the highest equivalent of Brigadier General," continued Dasco.
