Six construction workers, two of whom were not natives, and a doctor was killed in a militant attack that allegedly took place in India'stensia last weekend.

The killings reportedly took place at a construction site in the Gagangir area, Ganderbal district, the central part of themen.

According to officials, workers are working on the construction of the Z-Morh strategic tunnel and the widening of the Jammu-Leh highway in the district adjacent to the Sonamarg tourist destination in the area.

Five other people are currently undergoing treatment as a result of injuries in the attack.

The attack came a day after the body of a non-Kashmir resident was found with gunshot wounds in the Shopian district, the southern minimum.

Indian Interior Minister Amit Shah stated that the perpetrators of the "reflection" would not be allowed to escape.

"The terrorist attack that is a coward against civilians... is a barbaric act that is very despicable. Those involved in this heinous act will not escape and will face the crackdown of security forces," Shah said on platform X as reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Monday, October 21.

Condemning the attack, Ministerial Chief Omar Abdullah said, "sad news about a coward attack on workers in Gagangir, Sonamarg area. They work on major infrastructure projects in the area."
