Reporting from Antaranews, Didit Herdiawan is a retired TNI Vice Admiral who was born in Surabaya, East Java, on September 13, 1961.

Didit is an alumni of the Naval Academy (AAL) and has extensive experience in the military world. Throughout his career, Didit has held a number of strategic positions in the Indonesian Navy and TNI Headquarters.

Didit's educational career began at the Naval Academy (AAL) in 1984, where he later joined the Navy's Marine Corps. Most of his time was spent as a crew of warships in the Navy.

He has also undergone various prestigious military education programs, such as Diklapa II/Koum Force 8 in 1994, Joint Service Command and Staff College at King's College University, England, in 1998, Planning of War Officer Course in Italy in 2002, Sesko TNI 30 in 2003, and Lemhannas RI 17 in 2011.

Didit not only had a career in the military sector, but also succeeded in completing various educational programs, including obtaining Master of Public Administration, Master of Business Administration, and Doctoral degrees from the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB).

Didit's military career is very bright, with various strategic positions he has held in the Indonesian Navy. He started by serving as Head of Sub-Div Evagiat Puslatlekdalsen Kodikal in 1995, followed by the position of Head of Sub-Department of PBA Puslatlekdalsen Kodikal in the same year.

Furthermore, Didit became the Acting KRI Lambung Mangkurat-374 in 1996, the KRI Palaksa Fatahillah-361 in 1999, and the KRI Commander Nuku-373 in 2000.

Didit has also filled various other important positions, including the Director of Disdiksopsla Kodical Pusdiksopsla in 2001, Dirselapa Pusdikopsla Kodikal in 2002, and Danpuslatlekdalsen Kodikal in the same year.

In addition, Didit also served as Sahli Pang "D" Jemen Koarmatim in 2003 and Assistant Operations Danlantamal VIII Koarmatim in the same year.

Then Didit was appointed as Dansatkor Koarmabar in 2004, and served as the Adjutant of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono from 2004 to 2009.

After that, Didit became Danguspurla Koarmabar (2009'2010), Chief of Staff of Koarmabar (2010), Commander of Kolinlamil (2010'2011), and Pangarmabar (2012).

His career continued to grow rapidly in 2012 when he was appointed Assistant Operations to the Chief of Naval Staff.

In 2014, Didit was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy. A year later, he was trusted as Deputy Governor of Lemhanas RI.

Then in 2015, he served as Chief of General Staff of the TNI, and in 2019, he was transferred to Inspector General at the Ministry of Defense.
