Investigate The Alexander Marwata Meeting, The Police Will Check The Deputy For Prevention And Monitoring Of The KPK

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya will examine the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Pahala Nainggolan as a witness in the investigation of alleged violations behind the meeting between Alexander Marwata and former Head of Yogyakarta Customs Eko Darmanto.

The examination of Pahala Nainggolan in the case is planned to take place Monday, October 28, 2024

"Investigators have sent a letter of clarification invitation to Pahala Nainggolan as Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK for questioning in handling the a quo case on Monday, October 28, 2024," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, Monday, October 21.

The examination of Pahala Nainggolan is scheduled for next week because previously the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK could not fulfill the invitation on October 18.

At that time, the reason was because Pahala was undergoing official duties abroad. Thus, asking investigators to postpone or reschedule the examination.

"Because the person concerned is on an overseas official trip, and asks to be rescheduled for clarification," he said.

Apart from the Pahala Nainggolan examination, investigators have taken information from four KPK employees on October 18.

It was not conveyed in returns to the identity of the KPK employee in question. Only one of them was mentioned by the Director of Registration and Examination of the KPK LHKPN, Isnaini.

"Until now, the investigation team of the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya has clarified 26 people," said Ade.

Alexander Marwata is said to have met Eko Darmanto in March 2023.

During the meeting, the KPK was investigating Eko Darmanto in a case of alleged gratification and money laundering (TPPU).

The meeting was considered a violation. This is because the KPK leadership is prohibited from having direct or indirect contact with suspects or other parties who are related to corruption cases handled by the KPK.
