Pramono Anung Wants JIS To Become A New Icon Of DKI Jakarta

JAKARTA - Candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta number 3 Pramono Anung wants the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) to become a new icon of DKI Jakarta such as a stadium abroad.

"I imagined that when one day we came to London, England would definitely go to Old Trafford, Chelsea, Arsenal, their memorable stadiums for football fans," Pramono said in Jakarta, Sunday.

The former Cabinet Secretary (Sekkab) answered that one of the residents in Langsat Park asked about the stadium in Jakarta.

He hopes that if elected, Jakarta will have a stadium like the Old Trafford Stadium owned by Manchester United or Stamford Bridge, Chelsea's home.

The two stadiums are known to be one of the destinations for tourists who come to Manchester or London, especially for football lovers.

Moreover, according to him, the Indonesian people, especially the citizens of Jakarta, really love football. Therefore, if access to transportation to JIS is repaired, the stadium will become a tourist destination for tourists.

"The ease of transportation must be done because so in love with the community is not only Jakarta but throughout Indonesia," he said.

He also revealed his experience while watching Dewa 19 concerts or the experiences of residents watching the Bruno Mars concert. It is said that they complained that it was far away and the difficulty of accessing transportation at JIS.

In addition, he also hopes that JIS can become a home for Persija and pride for residents and anyone who comes to Jakarta.

"Although Jakarta is no longer the capital city of the state, I am sure that in the next 5-10 years Jakarta will still be like this, it will even be more advanced," he said.

The 26.6 hectare JIS area is a land asset of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government since 2008 and is planned for the initial stage of the construction of an international standard sports stadium.

The JIS building has also passed the achievement as a green building with a platinum level for the design recognition phase.
